Before founding a challenger brand, Holly Thaggard spent her days in a third grade classroom. After her friend was diagnosed with skin cancer, she began to notice a gap in the health and safety curriculum at school—no one was talking to kids about sunscreen.

“The industry was sleepy and there was no innovation,” said Thaggard. “I’ve learned through my research that this type of cancer is primarily preventable with a magic lotion: SPF.”
