Minority-owned businesses make up a sixth of the six million businesses registered across the U.K., generating revenue of at least $100 billion (74 billion pounds) a year, research by Open Think Tank revealed in February. And yet repeatedly these entrepreneurs share the same stories of a struggle to generate start-up funding in comparison to white male-founded businesses.
It’s a tale that is certainly not exclusive to Britain, but one that a campaign being supported by Google aims to make a thing of the past.
