Circle K Goes Checkout-Free in 6 Arizona Stores

The convenience store is partnering with Grabango on the contactless technology

Convenience store chain Circle K is partnering with startup Grabango to roll out checkout-free tech in six of the company’s Arizona locations.

Grabango’s technology uses anonymized AI to track the items each customer picks up, then allows them to check out by scanning a barcode in an app as they leave the store. Circle K previously worked with startup Standard AI on a similar project in October, in which the Alimentation Couche-Tard-owned chain outfitted one Tempe, Arizona store with autonomous checkout tech.
