China leads the world in social commerce as Western nations race to keep up, adapt and find new growth from social platforms. 

Creative consultancy Deft‘s founder Ian Crocombe joined Adweek’s Social Media Week: London to discuss his company’s latest Social Commerce Report and what brands can learn from China’s success. 

Social commerce in China is ‘years ahead’ 

Social commerce sales in China are predicted to reach more than $363 billion in 2021. Western markets are not experiencing the same speed of implementation and adoption, so researchers at Deft set out to discover why.

“We built our own proprietary methodology to measure success in social commerce,” Crocombe explained.
