Mark Zuckerberg will be honored as media person of the year at the 57th annual Cannes Lions Ad Festival.

Zuckerberg, 25, is the CEO of Facebook, which he founded in 2004 while an undergraduate at Harvard University.

The award honors a prominent personality who is influential in today’s media landscape and plays a role in shaping the future of the ad industry.

“For Mark Zuckerberg to have created one of the Internet’s most dominant businesses so quickly, and to have had such a global impact on the way we all communicate with each other, is quite simply astonishing,” said Philip Thomas, Cannes Lions CEO, in a statement.

Mark Zuckerberg will be feted during the Press, Cyber and Design Lions Awards ceremony on June 23 at the Palais des Festivals, Cannes, France.
