NEW YORK — WPP Group has agreed to take a 25 percent in Shanghai Advertising Limited. The agency, based in Shanghai, has a longstanding relationship with WPP’s Ogilvy & Mather. A joint venture between Ogilvy and Shanghai Advertising, called Ogilvy & Mather Shanghai, opened in 1991, and in 1995, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide Shanghai opened.

Shanghai Advertising Limited is a subsidiary of Shanghai East Best International Group Co. In a statement, WPP CEO Martin Sorrell said, “WPP will continue to increase its business portfolio in China and deliver the best service to our clients from every aspect.”
