Wing Latino Wins Union Bank Review

LOS ANGELES Union Bank of California said it has awarded the creative portion of its $1 million Hispanic account to Wing Latino Group.

The Los Angeles agency won the business after a three-month review. The other contenders were not disclosed.

Union Bank previously worked with Cohen Latino Communications (now Xpectrum Marketing Group) in San Diego. Media buying remains with Round 2 Communications in Los Angeles.

“We chose Wing Latino because they know the Hispanic community, and they have a strong understanding of the banking industry and the specific needs of this segment,” said Jessica Anderson, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Union Bank.

The agency will support marketing efforts for the bank’s emerging markets administration, which was launched five years ago to reach ethnic communities in California. Work will include TV, radio and print ads.

Union Bank is a subsidiary of UnionBanCal Corp. in San Francisco. Union Bank has 259 locations in California, 180 of which serve predominantly ethnic communities. The bank also has six branches in Oregon and Washington and 18 international offices.
