One of the lesser-noticed features of the never-ending cola wars is the practice of introducing odd-favored offshoots. This is how we got Cherry Coke (1985), Vanilla Coke (2002) and Black Cherry Vanilla Coke (2006.)

Sometimes, though less frequently, the odd flavors give rise to odd colors, too. Crystal Pepsi—a clear version of regular Pepsi—hit the market in 1992.
