This Week’s Must-Haves: a Stylish Smart Bracelet That Helps Keep Women Safe

This week, the Adweek staff is highlighting a stylish wearable that does more than your typical fitness tracker, a tennis tote from Tory Sport and a USB-rechargable gel mani kit. Take a look!

WiseWear Socialite Bracelet, $295 and up

Not long ago, most smart bracelets took the form of clunky rubber wristbands in which function far outweighed form. Things have changed quite a bit since then, with a growing number of tech companies offering wearables that can actually be deemed stylish. One of the latest entries in this category is WiseWear, whose chic cuffs go above and beyond your typical smart band. Not only are the 18 karat gold- and palladium-plated bracelets beautiful on their own—fashion legend Iris Apfel was such a fan that she became the face of the brand—they're also helping to make women safer. In addition to offering the usual activity tracking and mobile notification features, the WiseWear bracelet features an integrated GPS antenna that allows it to send distress signals when the wearer is in need. Just tap the bottom of the cuff in a special pattern, and it will automatically send a text message along with the wearer's location to a list of emergency contacts.
