Weber Leaves As AMS Dissolves

Larry Weber, CEO of Advanced Marketing Services, left his post last week as IPG continued the breakup of its below-the-line unit. Weber said he will stay on with IPG in a consulting role. Late last year, IPG shifted AMS’ Octagon and Jack Morton Worldwide units to the Sports & Entertainment Group. AMS’ PR shops, including Weber Shandwick and Golin/ Harris, will report to Weber Shandwick CEO Harris Diamond. AMS’ ISO Healthcare Consulting and Magna Global will report to IPG.

Drivers urged to ‘click’ seat belts

WASHINGTON The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched a $25 million seat-belt-safety campaign last week. The TV and radio effort, from Washington-based GMMB (an Omnicom shop) shows unbelted dummies flying through windshields during crash tests. The work also shows drivers receiving tickets from law-enforcement officials. The tagline is, “Click it or ticket.”
