Car agency veteran David Weber has made the move from the passenger’s seat to the driver’s seat, having been appointed vice president of marketing at Hyundai Motor America last week.
Bates USA West in Irvine, Calif., has long handled Fountain Valley, Calif.-based Hyundai’s estimated $100 million business, with support from its New York office. While some sources have speculated that the long-awaited arrival of a new vice president of marketing could trigger agency changes, Weber said, “We have no plans whatsoever for an agency search.
