Wanted: James Bond

NEW YORK — If you love to travel, are multilingual, have acting experience, consider yourself an A-type personality and can keep your mouth shut, there could be a position waiting for you with Israel’s Institute for Intelligence and Special Assignments, or, as the nation’s secret service branch is known, Mossad.

In a new ad campaign, the Israeli prime minister’s office, which oversees Mossad, declares: “The Mossad is opening up. Not for everyone. Not for many. Maybe for you.”

Ephraim Halevy, who was appointed head of the Mossad agency in 1998, is personally heading the recruitment push, which is said to have attracted thousands of responses in one week since the first ad appeared.
