SXSW Will Build a Virtual Downtown Austin for Attendees to Experience in VR

If you can’t bring attendees to South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, why not bring Austin to them? Undeterred by the challenge of creating the usual immersive experiences at the event, SXSW organizers worked with social XR events studio VRrOOm to recreate Austin—with a fantastical, colorful aesthetic and wondrous features—so that attendees can walk its streets virtually via PC, PCVR or Oculus Quest to attend events, panels, meetups, special events and films.
