Investors last week shrugged off weak employment data and the ongoing war in Iraq, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average higher at week’s end. Meanwhile, analysts expressed confidence that marketing-communications companies are getting their bottom lines in order. On the Big Board, IPG shares increased 5.7 percent to close the week at $9.90; Omnicom rose 6.1 percent to $57.67; and British holding company WPP, trading as American Depository Receipts on the Nasdaq, jumped 11.4 percent to $29.74.
