Volkswagen Japan Awards Golf Biz to Fallon

CHICAGO Fallon’s Tokyo office was named lead agency for Volkswagen’s Golf account in Japan following a review of undisclosed shops, according to the agency.

“Volkswagen Group Japan was looking for a communications partner that will not only be a reliable creative resource, but also a long-term strategic source,” said Martin Biswurm, general manager of Volkswagen Group Japan’s marketing division, in a statement. “Our selection committee unanimously chose Fallon Tokyo as the agency partner that met our needs.”

Billings for the assignment were undisclosed. Volkswagen is Japan’s top import car, and the Golf is its flagship line, the agency said.

Fallon Tokyo opened its doors in September, when the shop partnered with gram Advertising to create the agency’s seventh global office. Its other clients include Sony, United Airlines and Dyson vacuums.
