Vivendi Universal Awards PR to Golin/Harris

BOSTON Vivendi Universal has selected Interpublic Group’s Golin/Harris International as its lead public relations agency, the client confirmed.

Vivendi Universal had launched the search for a public relations firm to handle its corporate identity work in November [Adweek Online, Nov. 9].

A client representative refused to disclose details about the review, including the identities of the other contenders. There was no incumbent PR shop on the business.

Sources pegged the budget at $1 million.

Golin/Harris, headquartered in Chicago, maintains offices in New York and nine other U.S. markets, as well as London.

Vivendi, a global media and telecommunications company based in Paris, has film, music, television and interactive game divisions. Subsidiaries include Universal Music Group and Vivendi Universal Games, among others.
