The review involving the Northwest marketing account of Verizon Wireless has narrowed to seven finalists.

GMO/Hill, Holliday and AKQA, both in San Francisco; Barkley Evergreen & Partners, Kansas City, Mo.; Euro RSCG Tatham, Chicago; Fogarty Klein Monroe, Houston; and Temerlin McClain, Irving, Texas, join incumbent Campbell Mithun, Minneapolis, in a final round of presentations, according to Wanamaker consultant Ken Bowes who is conducting the review for the Seattle-based client.

Originally, 25 shops were competing for the estimated $40 million creative account.

Zenith Media in New York handles media planning and buying chores.

Verizon Northwest, formed by the merger of Air Touch, GTE, Bell Atlantic and other wireless companies, operates in 14 Western and Northwestern markets.

A decision is expected by the the end of March.
