NEW YORK Universal McCann has appointed David Morgan president of its Asia-Pacific operations.

Morgan replaces Allan Medforth, who left the Interpublic Group media network in February.

Morgan, 41, joins UM from WPP Group’s Mediaedge:cia, where he was chief executive of its Asia-Pacific operations. Morgan will now be based in Singapore and report to UM’s worldwide CEO Nick Brien.

In a statement, Brien said, “This is a complex region with its unique set of challenges and David will be fundamental to enhancing and cultivating UM’s presence, delivering sustainable communication advantage for our clients.”
