TV Guide Introduces Web Guide

TV Guide has unveiled its own daily Web guide to live Internet events. Now available on, the guide uses the familiar TV Guide “grid” format to highlight and link users to notable online programming. Additionally, the guide features online chats, interactive games and contests. More than 40 major event sites have signed on to the Web guide, including, and, a New York-based Web guide that once tracked more than 150,000 Web events and programs each week, has decided to close its ad-supported, consumer-based product in favor of a B2B play led by former COO and CFO Steve Fredericks. Fredericks succeeds CEO and president Jeff Morris, who has left the company. In the meantime, the company has laid off much of its bicoastal staff, primarily leaving its technology group in tact.
