TUGGING ON HEART STRINGS

Ingalls Advertising in Boston pulled out all the emotional stops for a two-minute promotional trailer for The Jimmy Fund, the principal fund-raising arm of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

The short film opens with shots of pets–puppies, kittens and other furry friends–in different settings with framed pictures of children who are patients at the Boston-based hospital.

According to the voiceover, all the pets ‘have something in common. They all have very good friends who are battling cancer.’

Unfortunately, the only thing the animals have to give, the voiceover says, ‘is love. But you can give so much more . . . Please give generously to The Jimmy Fund.’

Eivind Ueland wrote the copy. Bob Pirrmann was the art director. Harry McCoy of Picture Park in Boston served as director. The spot is now running in movie houses throughout New England.
