Say what you will about the bad economy, at least the downturn has made it easier to get tables at restaurants. Polling this month by Rasmussen Reports finds consumers continuing to economize by dining out less, though the tendency isn’t as strong as it has been.

Forty-four percent of respondents to the current survey said they are dining out less often than they did six months ago. Though high, the number is down from 56 percent reporting such cutbacks in a similar poll last October.
