Triumph Motorcycles Taps WestWayne

ATLANTA WestWayne has been named the North American agency for Triumph Motorcycles, the shop said.

The Atlanta agency will handle media planning and buying, as well as creative development, for Triumph’s North American headquarters in Newnan, Ga. The win followed a review that included other, undisclosed agencies. Global creative development will continue to be handled by the White Partnership in London, as Triumph’s global headquarters is in Britain.

WestWayne’s work for Triumph will start with the launch of the Rocket III motorcycle, the shop said. The Rocket III is the largest production-displacement motorcycle ever built, according to the client, and will be sold by Triumph subsidiaries across the U.S.

“This is one of those accounts that everyone at the agency is looking forward to working on because Triumph motorcycles have the ‘cool factor,’ and the brand has a rich heritage all over the world, and Triumph customers are extremely loyal,” said Jeff Johnson, president of WestWayne.

The agency said that in addition to handling Triumph’s media planning, buying of trade and consumer advertising, and creative development, the shop also will act as the company’s U.S. ambassador. Judy Popky, svp and media director at WestWayne, and Ken Yarborough, group account director, will head the business at the Atlanta office.

Work is in the development stages, according to WestWayne. Billings were not disclosed.
