Richard French & Associates has added TotalCharters, and Trifolium to its technology roster.

The three new clients bring total annual fees of more than $1 million to the Raleigh, N.C., public relations firm.

High-tech companies depend on industry credibility rather than name recognition, said Richard French, president and chief executive officer of the 50-person shop.

“We do brand building and analyst relations, which are more critical than advertising in terms of credibility,” said French.

TotalCharters is a Charleston, S.C.-based adventure travel specialist, one of the fastest-growing categories on the Internet. The company is a resource for online booking of chartered travel through its proprietary database of tour operators. Its specialties include sailing, diving and aviation. is a Webcast network based in Dallas. Its streaming media programming is devoted to all things Western.

According to the client, the shop won the business because of its experience with the Wrangler and Jack Daniels brands.

Because the Western culture market is fractured, it provides an ideal marketing opportunity, said Clancy.

Trifolium, headquartered in Research Triangle Park, N.C., offers software and services for enterprise application integration and e-commerce solutions.
