Toyota Dealers’ Group Cuts to 7

NEW YORK Seven agencies here have advanced in the review for the creative portion of the $80 million Greater New York Toyota Dealers Association ad account, sources said.

Contending are Grey Global Group’s Grey; Interpublic’s Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos; Omnicom’s DDB; Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners; Wolf Group; DeVito/Verdi; and the incumbent, Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi, sources said.

The list was culled from a group of 12 [Adweek, May 12]. The agencies either declined comment or could not be reached. The client is expected to visit the shops before cutting to a handful of finalists. Final presentations are slated for mid-July.

Media duties, handled by Saatchi sister agency Zenith Media in New York, are not in play. New York consultancy Roth Associates is managing the review.
