NEW YORK Unionbay last week shot TV spots for a fall ad campaign, “Hollywood backlot,” that will target teens who dream of someday finding their place in the spotlight.

The effort from independent Toth Brand Imaging, Concord, Mass., features a dozen aspiring actors and models photographed at the Charlie Chaplin Studios in Los Angeles. Unionbay spent $2.5 million on ads last year, per TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.

“The campaign was inspired by our realizing that many of the kids who have modeled in our ads [including Hilary Swank and Amy Smart] have gone on to become serious actors,” said Cathie Underwood, client vice president of licensing.
