The Dallas Ad League, which promised a new, improved 1998 Tops show, has established guidelines that it hopes will meet that goal.
First and foremost, the length of the show, which serves as the local level of the American Advertising Federation’s Addy awards, will be drastically reduced.
The marathon sessions that once spurred paper airplane tosses at the emcee will be shortened by an altered presentation schedule. Rather than repeatedly calling up individuals for each category, a winner will get his or her entire cache of honors at once–and only once.
Speaking of medals, there will be only gold, silver or bronze in each category.
