Gary Topolewski last week was named chairman of Chemistri, the agency Publicis formed last March to handle General Motors business. Topolewski, 46, retains the title of chief creative officer and replaces Roger Haupt, who remains president and chief operating officer of Publicis. Topolewski said the move will help streamline decision-making at the Troy, Mich., shop. Chemistri handles brands including Cadillac and Pontiac.
