Top Marketing Exec Leaves Mondelez

Mary Beth West exits during major reorg

Mary Beth West, CMO of Mondelez International, is leaving the company as the snacks powerhouse undergoes a major reorganization effort. West has been the top marketing officer at Mondelez since 2012 when Kraft Foods split into two companies. She held the same position at Kraft for six years.

Replacing West is Mark Clouse, who will assume a new position, chief growth officer. Clouse held a number of senior spots in his 18 years with the company. Since Mondelez’s creation in 2012, he has served as president of its North American business.

Mondelez, which owns brands such as Oreo, Cadbury, Trident and Nabisco, will transition to a "region category-led operating model" worldwide starting Jan. 1.

"With these changes to our organizational structure, one of my dearest colleagues has decided that it's the right time to begin the next chapter of her career," CEO Irene Rosenfeld said.

The company reported that West was leaving to "pursue other interests" without offering specifics.
