Moudry Leaves Focus for Carmichael Lynch
DALLAS–The top creative at The Focus Agency in Dallas is moving to Minneapolis for a group creative director’s role at Carmichael Lynch, where he is expected to work on the Porsche account.
Tom Moudry, executive creative director at Focus, confirmed last week he is moving to become group creative director and senior partner at CL.
“I’m packing boxes as we speak,” Moudry said last week. He begins his new job Sept. 7.
Moudry, a 38-year-old Minneapolis native, spent more than six years in Dallas, beginning as creative director with DDB Needham. He made his mark at that shop for his work with fellow creative Galen Greenwood on the “Mosquito” TV spot for Tabasco. The spot grabbed a Gold Lion at Cannes.
He also worked on GTE and Shell Energy.
When DDB parent Omnicom spun off the GTE account group to form The Focus Agency, Moudry followed.
“Texas has been a great place to be; I’m going to miss everyone I’ve worked with,” he said. “I just think that Carmichael is known for doing great work, and I respect their creative product.”
Focus president Mike Sullivan said creative directors Doug Githens and Brad Groom will take over for Moudry.
