Tommy, Yahoo Support Up-and-Coming Musicians

NEW YORK Tommy Hilfiger U.S.A. has teamed up with Yahoo for a sponsorship deal that will showcase new and emerging artists, like country star Jimmy Wayne, the companies said.

The sponsorship will help promote Tommy Jeans Stage, a program that supports up-and-coming musical acts by featuring their pre-show performances on branded plaza stages located outside main Clear Channel Entertainment amphitheaters.

As a part of the deal, Tommy Jeans Stage has secured branding rights on the Emerging Artist of the Month section of Yahoo’s music destination, Launch ( It also will receive heavy media rotation throughout the portal’s network through July.

In addition, Launch will promote Tommy Hilfiger’s “Fresh for Summer Sweepstakes,” which carries a grand-prize trip for four to one of four selected concert destinations. The sponsorship also includes a Tommy-branded Internet radio player that will spotlight Tommy Jeans Stage artists that will be on tour this summer and audio advertising across Launch.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
