Young & Laramore is crossing borders to advertise the dangers of tobacco.
As part of the national tobacco settlement, the Indianapolis agency created an outdoor campaign that illustrates how many Hoosiers are killed by smoking. One execution features listing ships with the Indianapolis skyline in the background. “Tobacco kills a Titanic of Hoosiers. Every six weeks,” the headline reads.
The ads began appearing last week on boards that had previously advertised cigarettes.
The statistics come from the Centers for Disease Control, based on deaths related to smoking only, and can be customized for each state.
