Thompson Gains 3 Local Clients

The Thompson Agency of San Antonio last week boosted billings more than $1 million after landing three Alamo City advertisng accounts, according to shop president Ken Thompson.
The agency was hired by Independence Hill Retirement Resort, San Antonio’s Omni Hotel and Internet Direct, a Web services company. All three accounts came to the shop without a formal review, said Thompson. Individual billings for the accounts were not disclosed.
Thompson said Internet Direct is the largest of the trio of new business wins, with a full marketing program expected to be implemented after preliminary meetings with the client.
Internet Direct is hoping to gain a foothold with local business executives for its Web hosting and design services. The company has previously used print, outdoor and radio for its advertising, he said.
Work for the Omni Hotel will launch this fall for the property’s recently opened Bolo’s Rotisserie Grille. Print and direct mail are expected to make up the bulk of the assignment, according to the shop. Thompson said the agency got its foot in the door with Omni through its work for a former destination client, Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort.
For Independent Hill Retirement Resort, Thompson will develop print ads, collateral materials, and direct mail for both the San Antonio and Omaha, Neb., locations of the seniors living center.
No information was provided on incumbents for any of the accounts.
The trio of account acquisitions follows Thompson’s roster addition of the $1.2 million San Antonio Water System imaging work, previously with KJS Marketing Communications Solutions (now KJS/Spark) of San Antonio.
