Navigating the personal care aisles at the local grocery store often involves choosing between an onslaught of very pleasantly scented products, especially when it comes to those geared towards people with vaginas. The decision often comes down to whether the buyer would rather smell like a dew-dappled violet, a strong piña colada or, for some inexplicable reason, baby powder. Some of us can still imagine the suffocating scent of warm vanilla sugar body wash if we concentrate hard enough.

Those flowery, unnatural scents are so commonly connected with cleanliness that that natural smell of a clean body can still somehow appear wrong in comparison.
