As vaccine rates rise and Covid-19 restrictions lift, many Americans are enjoying the opportunity to see friends and family again after more than a year of isolation. But social distancing hasn’t ended for the 10 million Americans who are immunocompromised.

Cox Communications and agency network FCB are trying to provide them with a bit of human connection through “The Hug Project.” Cox worked with London-based wearable technology company CuteCircuit to develop the HugShirt, a WiFi-powered device equipped with haptic sensors and a companion app.
