New York’s not the only place where ad execs get eaten alive.

Over a seafood lunch last week, Terrie Paladino, chief development officer at Publicis, reminisced with Shoptalk about the eel that snacked on her in February at Great Guana Cay Island in the Bahamas.

“I was about 15 feet from the beach, and I felt a sharp pain,” she says. “When I looked down, my entire foot was in the eel’s mouth.”

Paladino, who was reading Linda Greenlaw’s The Hungry Ocean on holiday and was snorkeling at Nipper’s Beach, knew she could lose her foot to the gnarly, nine-foot-long Atlantic green moray and its three sets of sawlike teeth.
