LOS ANGELES — Casual dining chain TGI Friday’s has selected McCann-Erickson to handle its $40 million creative and media account, the company confirmed on Friday.

The New York shop bested finalists TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif., and Deutsch/L.A. in Marina del Rey, Calif. for the win. The incumbent, Publicis in Mid-America, Dallas, withdrew from the review earlier in the process.

Among McCann-Erickson’s challenges will be ongoing repositioning at Friday’s, which has added organic and “healthy” fare to its menu.
