On Wednesday President Donald Trump revoked protections for transgender students in public schools that gave them the ability to use the bathroom that corresponded with their gender identity. In a letter, the Trump administration explained that the protections, which were issued under the Obama administration, were “improperly and arbitrarily devised” and “without due regard for the primary role of the states and local school districts in establishing educational policy,” according to the New York Times.

After the decision was made public on Wednesday evening, major players in the tech space including Apple, Google, IBM and more issued statements supporting the transgender community.

“Apple believes everyone deserves a chance to thrive in an environment free from stigma and discrimination,” the company said in a statement to Axios.
