BOSTON Nextel on Monday awarded TBWA\Chiat\Day creative chores on its $150 million account, following a review in which Arnold was runner-up, the client confirmed.

A separate competition for media duties is ongoing.

Havas’ Arnold, Boston, and New York-based Omnicom shop TBWA\C\D emerged last Wednesday from a field of four contenders following the elimination of incumbent Mullen, Wenham, Mass., an Interpublic Group agency, and Publicis Groupe’s Leo Burnett, Chicago.

Still pitching the wireless telecommunications company’s media business are Publicis’ Starcom, Omnicom’s PHD, Havas’ Media Planning Group and incumbent Initiative Media, an IPG shop.
