CHICAGO — Midas will invite a “select group” of agencies to pitch its $50-60 million advertising account, company executives said Monday.

The Chicago-based chain of muffler and auto repair shops parted ways with agency EURO RSCG McConnaughy Tatham over what agency executives said in an internal memo was a difference in vision.

Midas representative Bob Troyer said the company plans to invite “not more than four” agencies to pitch the account. He declined to discuss the invitations but said contenders will have retail experience.
