It’s not often a Mexican restaurant in Texas displays some of the less desirable attributes of America’s neighbor to the south.
But a new outdoor advertising campaign for Tortuga Coastal Cantina restaurants in Houston shows how diners can enjoy some of the flavors of Mexico-margaritas and fajita tacos, for example-minus some of the drawbacks.
“It’s Cancún. Without the thrilling taxi ride” and “It’s Cozumel. So don’t drink the water,” are two of the executions going up in Houston through Rhymes & Company Advertising there.
“The humor catches the reader’s attention, but the food remains the star,” said agency president Felix Rhymes.
The outdoor effort, which broke in April, will run throughout 1999 as Tortuga continues its expansion in the city.
