NEW YORK — Charlie Taney, a 16-year veteran of Foote, Cone & Belding, who left the agency nearly three years ago, is rejoining as vice chairman, a new worldwide position. He reports to FCB Worldwide CEO Brendan Ryan.

Taney, 54, will focus on certain key FCB clients and will work with worldwide new business director Maureen Shillet. Taney left FCB in 1999 to run Gilbert Taney Farlie, a New York recruiting and advertising consultancy. Before that, he was president of FCB New York from 1996-1999, a position now held by Jeff Tarakajian.
