Take Me Out To The Ball Game

The Boston Red Sox have teamed up with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority for a series of ads this season.
A single TV spot and two public address announcements starring MBTA general manager Bob Prince and Red Sox general manager Dan Duquette urge fans to take mass transit to games, as well as to festivities surrounding the All-Star Game on July 13.
In one message now playing on MBTA trains and in stations, Duquette urges fans “to hit a grand slam against traffic jams this summer” by riding the subway and buses to Fenway Park.
Scripts were developed by Red Sox public relations shop Collette Phillips Communications in Needham, Mass.
The MBTA has been broadcasting the messages through its system several times each day. The NESN cable sports network, which airs Red Sox games, taped the video version, which will be offered as a public service announcement to stations next month.
The MBTA has no plans to begin selling ads over its public address system, a representative said.
