Taco Cabana Picks Calise and Sedei

DALLAS Calise and Sedei has added advertising and integrated marketing chores for Taco Cabana.

The chain, a unit of Carrols Restaurant Group, operates about 140 locations in New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. It spent slightly less than $10 million in 2006 measured media, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

WestWayne in Atlanta had previously handled the account.

“Taco Cabana is a major restaurant brand, and we’re thrilled with the opportunity to begin building on Taco Cabana’s strength in the marketplace,” said Charlie Calise, agency president. “The team assigned to the account has extensive experience and capabilities in the restaurant category, and we look forward to moving the relationship forward.”

The assignment includes strategic consulting and the creation and execution of campaigns across various media.

Calise and Sedei is an independent shop in Dallas that handles clients in the restaurant, financial service, travel, sports, technology, automotive and entertainment fields. The shop is perhaps best known of late for its use of the classic animated Mr. Peabody “world’s smartest dog” character in ads last year for Virbac Animal Health.
