When it comes to eating on the go, many of us choose fast food options that aren’t always the healthiest. We don’t do it because we love burgers and fries, it’s mostly because healthier options are either out the way or take too long.

Nowadays, there are several healthier fast food options, including plant-forward bowl chain Sweetgreen.

Founded with the aim of creating a business where quality and convenience went hand-in-hand, the first Sweetgreen opened Aug. 1, 2007 in Washington, D.C. with a vision of reimagining fast food.

In this episode of Young Influentials, Adweek digital editor and host Colin Daniels sits down with co-founder and chief brand officer Nate Ru to discuss the creation of Sweetgreen right after graduating college and how the company is impacting the communities around its restaurants.
