NEW YORK Aaron McGruder, creator of the former “Boondocks” comic that inspired the Cartoon Network’s current Boondocks TV show, has inked a deal to develop a live-action series for the online comedy hub Super Deluxe.

Cartoon Network and Super Deluxe are both owned by Turner Broadcasting.

Starting next month, “The Super Rumble Mixshow” will offer more than 20 “mini-episodes” of sketch comedy and additional satirical content.

McGruder, whose high-profile comic was distributed by Universal Press Syndicate from 1999 to 2006, said he looks forward to doing topical commentary without the long lag of animation.
