LOS ANGELES Interpublic Group’s Suissa Miller laid off five employees this week, the shop confirmed.

The reductions, which affected approximately 9 percent of the shop’s employees, cut across several departments, including media, traffic, business affairs and IT. The agency said it now has 51 employees.

The layoffs are a result of staff redundancies that arose as Suissa Miller prepares to merge in January with IPG shop Dailey & Associates in West Hollywood, Calif., the agency said.

Suissa Miller recently won the creative portion of Best Western’s $30 million account, and also works with clients such as Princess Cruises, the California State Automobile Association, iomega, Farmer John and the Cereal Task Force.
