LOS ANGELES California Lottery director Joan Wilson has been reassigned by the governor’s office to a new position, a lottery representative confirmed.

Wilson had been in her post for three years. During that time, she oversaw two failed reviews for the lottery’s advertising contract.

Lottery representative Norma Minas said the reassignment does not signal dissatisfaction with Wilson’s performance. “This is common practice in state government,” said Minas. She added that while the advertising contract “might have its own issues,” Wilson successfully oversaw a number of contracts with other vendors.
