CHICAGO Starcom MediaVest Group’s Tapestry division has named Renee Richardson director of African American markets, the agency said.

Richardson, a 15-year veteran of SMG, will look to expand Tapestry’s African American media practices. Tapestry, which is the Chicago-based multicultural arm of SMG, already has assignments from Coca-Cola, Kraft and Miller Brewing Co. She previously led African American efforts for SMG sister company StarLink.

Media supervisor Camellia Ware ran tapestry’s African American business. Ware will continue in that role and assist with new business development for Tapestry.
