Spittler To Retire From SMG

CHICAGO — Jayne Spittler, Starcom MediaVest Group media director, plans to retire at the end of August, she said Thursday.

Spittler, 52, who has been with Leo Burnett’s media department, now Starcom Media Services, since 1981, will stay on as a consultant, however. No replacement was named as of Thursday.

“Jayne is an industry icon, a pioneer in the field of both research and media planning,” said Jack Klues, CEO of SMG, in a news release. “She blazed new trails in media research over the years, winning the respect and trust of countless blue-chip clients along the way Time and again, her foresight and expertise have helped to keep Starcom and its clients ahead of the market.”
