DALLAS Brown-Forman has hired TracyLocke to handle U.S. promotions for Southern Comfort, one of the distiller’s flagship brands.

The value of the account was not disclosed. Southern Comfort spent $5 million on advertising in 2005 and $6 million through August 2006, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

The win for the Omnicom Group shop followed a review. The other finalists were not disclosed.

TracyLocke’s win came about a month after the client named Havas’ McKinney as its lead interactive agency. Havas’ Arnold in Boston is Southern Comfort’s primary partner for traditional advertising.
